District Curriculum
What do we want kids to know and be able to do?
Curriculum is determined by the district and guides
what we teach to our students. Nebraska City Public School's curriculum
for Math and Language Arts has been determined to be equal to or more
rigorous than of the state. A standards based approach has been
incorporated and implemented to ensure that all students meet the
objectives set by the district.
First developed in 1992, under
the direction of Dr. Keith Rohwer, Learner Will Statements have been
revised and reviewed by Nebraska City Public School teachers. They
identify what we want kids to know and be able to to do at each grade /
subject level.
Learner Will statements give students a clear target for success.
Below are links outlining Nebraska City Public School's Curriculum
as it is aligned with the State Standards. Local curriculum statements
are known as Learner Will Statements and identifed with the letters LW.
Listed in bold print you will see the state defined standard and listed
directly below that are the learner will statements or our local
curriculum. Additional curriculum areas, not currently listed, are in
the revision process and will be available soon. Check the "High School
Curriculum" Web Site to view specific High School Curriculum and Class
