The Scholastic Book
Fair which was held in November of 2007 went well!
The theme was "Bookfair Blizzard".
A big "Thank
You" to Marie Glenn for loaning us her stuffed penguin. He was a
hit! Book sales totalled
almost $3,400. We were, therefore, able to select almost
$2,200 of free items. Part of that amount was earned by
decorating, getting the kids involved in games and projects, by having
Book Fair Fun Night and by having parents come in as volunteers to help
sell books.
The kids really enjoyed helping us make decorations.
There were 28 adults who
volunteered.
The atmosphere was fun!
 
Profits were good. Teachers were given the opportunity to choose
books that
they wanted the library to have. Some resource materials were
ordered as well. All volunteers were given the
opportunity to visit the Scholastic Warehouse in Lavista to purchase
books at 50% off. What a
fantastic benefit for those who helped! We hope that all
volunteers enjoyed the complimentary homemade hot chocolate!
Thank you once again to everyone who helped and purchased items for
making Book Fair 2007 a huge success!!
