* Prior to graduation, students must earn credit for one semester of
American Literature and one semester of English Literature.

COURSE SELECTION GUIDELINES
1.    All students, unless previously arranged with the principal and counselor, must be scheduled for at least seven (7) classes each semester.
2.    All students are encouraged to select a program of study that will be a challenge to their intellectual capacity, as well as preparing them for their chosen vocation.
3.    All students are required to consult with their parents so a mutual understanding of needs will exist.
4.    All students are encouraged to make full use of the school’s facilities and to consult with their teachers and counselor.
5.    It is the policy of the Nebraska City High School to be in compliance with Title IX: Section A requirements.  Enrollment of students into classes is not based on sex, race, or disabilities.
6.    Students who fail courses will have their educational program reviewed by teachers, counselor and the principals to determine which courses will be repeated.
7.    A course will not be offered if there is not sufficient interest and enrollment to justify it.

NCHS also offers enhanced classes that can be taken through internet virtual high school. 
A student must be a Junior or Senior and must have a B average.
