Requirements for Lettering
REQUIREMENTS FOR LETTERING (VARSITY)
VOLLYBALL:
No unexcused misses from practice.
Play in 1/3 total volleyball games.
Turn in entire uniform.
FOOTBALL:
Participate on an average of 1-1/2 quarter per game.
TENNIS:
Participate in a set number of varsity matches. This will be
determined at the beginning of the year due to the irregularity of
match number each year.
CROSS COUNTRY:
Must meet one of the following:
Place in a major meet.
Compete in district or state meets.
GIRL’S BASKETBALL:
Each girl must play 1/4 of the total possible quarters in a given
season. Example: 16 game season=64 possible quarters;
therefore, in order to letter one must play in at least 16 quarters.
BOY’S BASKETBALL:
Participate on an average of 1-1/2 quarters per game.
WRESTLING:
Participate in not less than 8 varsity matches and win one or more medals in a major varsity tournament.
GIRL’S TRACK:
Score in a major meet (quadrangular or invitational).
BOY’S TRACK:
Each boy must score a total of 12 points during the season (all meets
included). Score in a major meet (quadrangular or
invitational). Break an existing school record (displayed in
trophy case).
BOYS AND GIRLS GOLF:
Participate on varsity team for three matches (have score counted) and play in the rest of the reserve matches.
Win a medal in any tournament.
No unexcused misses from practice.
CHEERLEADING:
Participate in all performances scheduled.
Participate in one parade per year.
No unexcused absences from practice or performances.
DANCE TEAM:
Participate in all performances scheduled.
Participate in all fundraisers.
No unexcused absences from practice or performances.
BASEBALL:
Participate in an average of one (1) inning per game throughout the season.
BOYS AND GIRLS SOCCER:
Participate in 3/4 of all halves possible during the season.
No unexcused absences from practice.
SOFTBALL:
Participate in an average of 1/3 of all of all Varsity Contests.
In addition to the above requirements an athlete may letter upon the recommendation of a particular head coach.
