Emergency Response to Life-Threatening Asthma or Systemic Allergic Reactions (Anaphylaxis)
It shall be the policy of the Nebraska City Public Schools, in the event of a life threatening respiratory emergency to administer medications as directed on the student’s Emergency Action Plan. If that plan does not lead to relief of symptoms or there is no plan in place, Epinepherine by EpiPen and albuterol by nebulizer will be administered per standing order which has been reviewed by a physician and mandated by the State Department of Education. Any individual treated for symptoms with epinephrine at school will be transferred to a medical facility by rescue squad at the family’s expens
