Middle School Band Awards
Director’s Award
This award is given annually to an outstanding band member in the seventh or eighth grade. The recipient is the student who best portrays the following criteria:
- Outstanding attitude throughout the entire year.
- Helpfulness and willingness to assist the director
and band in musical and non-musical capacities.
- Participation in the solo and ensemble contest, as
a solo entry or small ensemble entry.
- Maintains a high level of achievement on instrument.
- Seeks out extra help with instrument.
- Is a leader in band and the instrumental music
program at Nebraska City Middle School.
Awards Night
Music students who have earned awards at the music contest, attended honor bands or have earned the Director's Award will be recognized at the Middle School Awards Night held in May. This is a night to celebrate the accomplishments of our students, not only in music, but in all aspects of school.
