World Book Online
Ths HTRS schools has subscribed to World Book Online. This is an internet
website that posts their encyclopedia and other research materials for students
to use. Also included are some links to other resources such as articles, maps,
pictures, and videos. There are really three different resource items: World
Book Kids, Educator Tools, and Research Libraries. A student can chose to use
the encyclopedia article, a magazine article, other websites, or get a
suggestion of books to read about the subject. These are all updated
continually. A wealth of information at your fingertips, 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week. |  |
World Book Kids is designed for elementary students. There are tons of
pictures, diagrams, maps and articles, just like on the advanced side. The web
links are at the bottom of the page after the article content. Take a look at
some of the neat activities that students can participate in called “Make It”,
“Think It”, and “Be It”.How do you get started? Go to the website http://www.worldbookonline.com.
Next, type in the user ID for home <07htrs> and the home password
<2007titans>. Once there, you can click on the World Book Advanced or
World Book Kids. Put in a search keyword and away you go.There is a help feature that you can use IF you have problems or questions.
It is called the World Book Online Reference Center.
