Who Am I?
I am an educator who believes that "All Students Can and Do Learn!" As
teachers we must find the key to unlock the door to learning for our
students.
I have been an educator in southeast
Nebraska for 19 years. I have taught Kindergarten, Sixth Grade, Third
Grade, Fourth Grade, and Title. I was the Project Director of our
Science Lottery Grant called "Collaboratories for Learning". I teach elementary classes and I am the technology coordinator for the HTRS district.
I love hands-on activities. As an Elementary teacher, the only science class I had in college to prepare me
for teaching was a methods class. I don’t feel that I know enough about the
science behind the activities. Many times I seek out the experts, the high
school teacher, a retired science teacher, the internet, or at NATS to learn
more. My goal is to be a better teacher of science using hands-on learning with
my students. By attending NATS, I meet in the sessions, at lunch, or in passing
and I get the chance to learn and make connections with even more science
experts. What Is This Site About?
This web site contains information about inquiry based science,
hands-on activities, science internet links, and Collaboration
Activities that took place duirng the three year period of our "Collaboratories for Learning" project.
Why is there technology on the site? You will also find information regarding technology,
because I am also the Technology Coordinator for my school district. I
have included in this webpage information on a technology grant that I
received from NETA (Nebraska Educational Technology Association).
Hope that you enjoy the site and come back often!
