Classroom Policies

ART CLASSROOM RULES


1. Students are expected to show respect for other members of the class, teaching staff, support staff and administration. This means no talking badly of any other students, faculty or anyone else within this classroom setting.
2. You are to be seated and working when the bell rings.
3. Bring all relevant material to class including a pencil.
4. No use of profanity will be allowed
5. Show respect for all supplies and equipment. You mst clean up the supplies you use and the work area. Improper use of equipment or not cleaning it will result in a zero for your daily grade.
6. Excessive use of supplies and/or use of supplies for projects other than in Art will result in a detention.
7. All assignments are required on the due date. Sketchbooks assignments are out of class work or homework,  due on Tuesdays.
8. Keep your opinions of the assignment to yourself, it will not change whether it is an assignment.
9. DO NOT ask other teachers to give you passes to come to Art during other classes or study halls. If you are having difficulties finishing aproject, we will decide on the best use of your time and your need for an extention.
10. Stay out of my desk. Ask before removing items from the inside of my desk.
11. You are able to talk quietly during class as long as the class works. This will change if you do not work during class time.
12. You may bring music CD's to play while working on Tuesday and Thursdays, IF there are no Parental Warnings on them.


*ART GRADING POLICIES

15% Daily in class work and Procedures This includes working within the classroom, cleaning up, and proper use of the         equipment.
15% Sketchbook
60% Finished projects
10% Reading


Grades on Art projects will be based on the following criteria:
1. Following the assignment guidelines
2. Using the correct material for assignments
3. Creativity - not copying from an existing art piece
4. Neatness and quality of finished project
5. Attitude and the willingness to try


Sketchbook Assignments
1. Sketchbook are due at class time on Tuesdays, they will not be accepted after Friday of the week they're due.
2. After two missed sketchbook assignments, a student will be placed on the incomplete list
3. A zero will result if it is not turned in or does not meet the sketchbook requirement
4. These are out of class assignments and can only be done during class, if you are finished with your normal work.
