In every sketch at every Art level it it necessary to add your shading and shadows to make your object look 3 dimensional.

FourthQuarter 2008

ART 1 & 2 
JUNIOR HIGH SKETCHBOOK ASSIGNMENTS

Sketchbooks are due every TUESDAY at the beginning of class time. These are out of class work and will not be accepted if done during normal art class time, unless all other projects are finished. They will not be accepted past Friday of the week they are due.

DRAW LARGE AND FILL UP YOUR PAGE
Look at what you are drawing and do not draw from memory. Remember to add shade and shadow to your object and the area of surface it sits on.

 ART I & II LEVEL HIGH SCHOOL SKETCHBOOK ASSIGNMENTS

Sketchbooks are due every TUESDAY at the beginning of class time. These are out of class work and will not be accepted if done during normal art class time, unless all other projects are finished.

DRAW LARGE AND FILL UP YOUR PAGE

Look at what you are drawing and do not draw from memory. Remember to add shade and shadow to your object and the area of surface it sits on.

March 11 - Draw to completition at least two coins.
March 18 - Draw a blind on the window or slats through a chair, put in the light coming through the openings
March 25 - Draw something with a Patriotic Theme
April 1 - Draw a landscape
April 8 - Make your own cartoon. Do not use a cartoon figure that is already copyrighten.
April 15 - Free, draw your choice of an object
April 22 - Draw an egg- you may need to darken the background, the the egg shows up, use the white of the paper to your advantage
April 26 - Draw your favorite toy
May 6 - Draw your room, include two walls and the furniture

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY & GRAPHIC
You can email your assignments to me or bring them to class. Photograph at least four angles each of the assignment.
March 11 - Photograph small objects in multiples, without any container, they need to be free on a surface
March 18 - Draw a blind on the window or slats through a chair, put in the light coming through the openings
March 25 -Photograph something with a Patriotic Theme.
April 1 - Lie on the ground and shoot an object from this view. Try and get a nice vertical vie with extentions that lead your eye upward
April 8 - Go to a store and photograph their shelves
April 15 - Photograph food
April 22 - Student's choice of a close-up item
April 29- Photograph a car or a vehicle, work on seeing the reflections in the objects.
May 6 - Photograph a flower or something in bloom -  flowering tree, tulip

ART III, IV & V LEVEL HIGH SCHOOL
Sketchbook Assignment will be your choice of an object to draw.


1. You must draw your object to completion. This will include all shadows, shading and possibly changing the background coloration to make your objects look 3-d.


2. Your sketch should look complete and should have no outlines.


If you hit a wall on ideas, draw one of the assignments for Art I & II.
