Deb Kubik
Hello, my name is Deb Kubik. I am the Pawnee City Public School's K-12 Art Instructor. I was named the 2006-2007 Nebraska K-12 Art Educator of the Year by the Nebraska Art Teachers Association.
I have been in the Pawnee City Schools for eight years and have been in
education for nine years. I received my education from the University
of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1979, where I obtained a B.S. in Interior
Design. In 1999, I received a B. A. from Peru State College in
Education with an emphasis on Art. I am a free-lance
Interior Designer and my companies name is the "Wild Geranium".
This past summer 2008 I was
commissioned to paint a mural for the "Institute for Women's and
Cildren's Health" a new part of Bryan LGH East Hospital for the
pediatric floor. In 2003 I was selected as an artist in the
public art installation project in Lincoln, NE the "Tour deLincoln". Where I produced the bike "Marble-ous". It will be on view for the public within the parks
indefinately. I have just finished with the "Fremont's Big Fish of the Platte" public
art installation and was selected to produce two designs for this
project. . Mine are "Shooting Star Fish" and "Little Fish on the Prairie". I am in the process of restoring St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Julian, NE statuaries and painting a mural on the back altar.
My husband and I reside in Auburn,
NE. We have three children, Micaela, Doug & Seth. Seth is a
senior at Auburn Public Schools and highly involved in wrestling. My
husband runs the Union Bank and Trust Branch in Auburn and also farms.
In our spare time we enjoy traveling, sporting activities,
gardening and new art related projects.
