Course: 

Using Online Research Services in Junior English Class

Outcome:

Students will be able to retrieve information from the online research services of SIRS Researcher, Wilson Omnifile and Wilson Biographies Plus Illustrated

Standard:

12.1.2:  By the end of the twelfth grade, students will locate, evaluate, and use primary and secondary resources for research.

Teacher Methods:

1. Discuss and explain each research service 
2. Demonstrate how to use each research service 

Student Activities:

1. Individually students will work on a guided practice for each research service 
2. Students will complete two searches for each research service

Resources:

1. Projector and screen for viewing research services as a class
2. A computer for each student

Summative Assessment:

Students will complete the two searches for each research service (total of 6)

Criterion for Outcomes:

Students will be successful in 4 of the 6 searches.
