When Do I Start?
Initial transition planning must begin by age 14 according to Federal Law (IDEA). Transition planning takes TIME. It cannot happen overnight. By starting at age 14 or before, students and families will:

Explore interests in each transition area

Understand how the disability may impact life

Develop necessary skills for adult living before leaving high school

Build on accomplishments, knowledge, experiences, and talents
